Boris – Jack Russell – 18 months
“Boris was a handful for his owners, in fact for everyone that came into contact with him, people that knew him or indeed strangers. His owners Paul and Claire Norris contacted me approx six months ago. Their remit was to take Boris through the basics; heel, sit, down, stay, wait, recall, interrupted recall, and to work on his impulse. Oh and his biting! Paul and Claire have achieved so much with “Boz”, as we have come to call him affectionately, a long road of ups, downs, don’t knows and wanting to part company with Boz. All through his training Boz took things on board and revelled in all that he learned, but without fail he would always snap. Typical Jack Russell, maybe, but it seemed to run deeper than that as things with dogs often do. However 6 months later and things are much better. He does all that is asked of him and so now he, Claire , Paul and Molly enjoy each other fully. Every other week Boz comes to stay with me. Sometimes a week at a time. I have to say, I love Bozzy! Great dog!”
Crumble – Cockerpoo – 10 weeks old
“Paul and Danielle contacted me because they had bought their very first dog and needed immediate help. On our consultation Paul seemed quite laid back, Danielle however was quite the opposite. Lively, driven but somewhat upset and despondent. See, because it was the first dog in their midst they did not have a clue. No fault of their own, I mean it stands to reason if something hasn’t crossed your path then you will have little knowledge of that something. However after the first meeting I could see that they were both eager to learn and teach their dog everything they could to ensure that its life and theirs were bound for success. From body language, hand signals and basic commands, both Paul and Danielle undertook all that came their way with vigour and relish, all very pleasing considering this was not only new to them, but very challenging too. On every visit, the first five minutes was always to recap what the previous lesson was all about. They couldn’t wait to show me. Now they have the tools to take their dog on a voyage of discovery, to enlighten themselves, their dog and all their lives together. Fantastic. Keep up the good work guys, but most of all, enjoy each other.”

Max's Story
The first 18 months of my life was pretty tough, as I lived in a small flat with my mum for protection, who was too busy to walk me, so I wasn’t familiar with the outside world until my new daddy came along and rescued me from a foster.
This is when my new exciting life began, except going for walks became a challenge for him as I tended to dash off and chase anything that moved, my favourite being deer! I got lost a few times but always made my way back to him and after a lot of recall work, I realised that hanging out with dad was far more rewarding as I was given cheese and hotdogs when I did good things.
Life improved from then on as I got to help dad train other dogs, which became my profession, as well as hanging out with lots of new friends during the day.
I’m 77 years old now (11 in human years) so I might retire soon as I’m not as athletic as I used to be but I still like to chill and play with my mates.”
